About Me

The idea and then concept for this website came about from my years of playing in bands (Tyneside & Fractions), and being a musician. I started playing the bass in the band Tyneside when I was 16. Over the time in this band we played almost every venue in my home town of Rockhampton, Australia, won a few band competitions and supported national bands such as The Butterfly Effect, Killing Heidi and The Superjesus. After 5 years of playing in Rockhampton we moved to Brisbane and played many venues around the city for about 2 years before the band split not long after. Fractions was formed later with some new members and some members from the old band. Our crowning moments in Fractions was headlining The Zoo a few times, supporting national act Papa VS Pretty and recording an EP and single. Fractions have now disbanded, so I’m currently not playing in any band at the moment.

One of my tasks in these bands was helping out organising and booking gigs for the band. In the process of trying to book a gig at a venue, first I would have to search the Internet and try and find a website on the venue. Some venues didn’t have websites and some only had Facebook or Myspace pages instead. Sometimes it would take a few hours to find and gather all the information on who to contact, email address’s, phone numbers and general information like, do they need a demo cd. Wouldn’t it be better if all the information could be found in the one place! A website where musicians could find everything they needed on a venue, and not spend hours wasting their time searching numerous websites, and instead spend their time on the important things like jamming. That’s why I wanted to create this website!
